Utilizing ultrasound during a trigger finger injection mitigates the risk of injecting into tendon, ensures accuracy, minimizes pain, and maximizes the medication being injected. Ultrasound is also an excellent way to dynamically visualize the tendon, how it’s functioning, and assess for edema or thickening.
